Good stuff Scott, glad it's working out for you. Fingers crossed that the light doesn't come back on in 100 miles or so.

I'm told my new Tahoe is on the Dealers lot now, they brought it in from out of state. My paperwork is with GM and I should hopefully be in the new rig in a day or two.

Well the dealer did a relearn on my transfer case. I have cycled thru it multiple times during a 20 mile drive with no issues. I am not confident at all, but we will see.

Mine was out for about 100 miles before it came back on...best of luck to you with yours.

I picked mine up yesterday and "service 4wd" just came back after about 50 miles of driving. It feels like it is stuck in 4 hi. Back to the dealer Monday morning. Very frustrating!!

200 miles since the relearn and no light. Fingers Crossed

Last Chance, do you run yours in Auto or 2wd?

Also is everyone here running the 2 speed 4wd or Single speed. Mine is 2 speed with 2wd, Auto, 4hi, N, and 4low. I am curious which system is being affected the most.

I have been running in auto since it is the rainy season in Florida now and heavy downpours appear out of nowhere. I dropped mine back off at the dealer today. I will post any updates as I get them. 5500 miles and this is the third time in service on a car with a 74k msrp.

Update

Just returned from vacation...put 924 miles on the truck, no sign of the dreaded "Service 4WD" message. The truck performed well and ate up miles beautifully, very comfortable on the highway. I ran it in 2WD all the time.

Now that I am home and close to service I will run it in Auto to see if that triggers the issue again. If not, I can only assume that replacement of the transfer case position sensor did the trick.

Side note: The truck was loaded with 6 people, lots of gear, and towing a waverunner - averaged 18.0 mpg for the trip.
