for the love of god, do a tune up please lol im sure it will feel as if it gained 20 hp after new plugs and wires.

So I already felt bad about not replacing the plugs, and your post gave me the shameful motivation I needed to bite the bullet and get it done :)

Spent a couple hours in the garage this morning and, except for not having a lot of room to work with on the driver side, it went pretty well. Drove it in town to pick up lunch for the family (didn't get above 45 mph) and didn't notice much of a difference, but I'm driving across DFW later this evening so hopefully I'll notice a difference on the highway/getting up to highway speeds.

Clandr1 - that's good to know. I bought new plugs & wires last week and am going to try to tackle the job in the next few days. The rear passenger side plug looks rough, but maybe it's not as bad as it looks. Wish me luck :)

I'm the oddball here, but I bought my '05 new in Feb '06, and it still has the original MAF, plugs, wires, and radiator. Still runs like a top at 215,000 miles.
My 2001 rad was prob original...and went last month at 230,000.

Heads up. Seems to be that they crack on plastic tank on psgr side. Mine did.

yep, I started on that passenger rear plug first as I’d read online that it was the hardest one of them all. The driver side seem to be much more difficult to remove the word Burns, once I had them all off (had to use some creative ways to give myself some leverage to pry them off) it went pretty smoothly. Best of luck to you!

thanks for the heads up! I’ll keep an eye out in the garage for any drops of coolant.
Yes. Mine didn't drip. Kept losing coolant mysteriously. Had to pressurized system to find it.

Just a helpful warning.

It's not anywhere near as bad as people want to make it. There are many ways to skin this cat, but IMHO this one is "the way." Worked for me.

Thank you Fless, I'll take a look at that link. The lady who works at the auto parts store where I bought my plugs said 'the book' allows for 8 hours of labor for the plugs and 5 hours for the wires. Last year my main mechanic shop quoted me $1,000 so I guess that's where they got that number! Thanks for the link.

Say What??????? $1000 for plugs & wires!

I know I've paid prob too much at times for services but that's more than ridiculous. I cant even describe it.
