Bought 2002 Tahoe LT new and have taken excellent care of. Another driver hit me, insurance totalled it. Insurance body shop claims the rear passenger side of frame is "twisted 1/4 inch". drives straight, I do not notice. Insurance companies body shop wasn't interested in repairing it either. Is 1/4 inch that big a deal? Advice? Repair? Costs?
Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Take the truck to another frame shop and have them put it up on their machine while you're watching and see where it's at. Don't tell them anything beforehand. I think you'll be surprised.

Only thing is he’ll need to pay for a set-up & measure. I’d stick with the alignment shop. If it aligns, then you’re good to go. Without a picture i couldn’t tell you much more but my guess is you will be just fine to keep driving it.

Side note, body shops work in millimeters and anything over 3mm is out of spec. That being said, it could be off 300mm but if it’s not in a crucial area to affect the alignment then who cares.

That's true and it does cost money. However, he'll know for sure and know if someone was trying to rip him off or not. The alignment, like you say, is what really matters.
