2004 6.0 NV4500 Tahoe

I do not. Whenever this cluster has a bulb go out or a stepper motor start to die its getting sent off and bedazzled a little along with a trans temp gauge. I will have to pull one of the PTO ports tap it for a sensor and figure out wiring. But it's something I've wanted to do since I fried the original NV3500 in my rcsb by getting it hot on a long tow trip.

The nv4500 in my rcsb has these nifty FAST coolers on the PTO ports that come with a tapped port for a sight gauge or sensor so that may be the route I go. I know these things get hot because they are untouchable after a long drive. Would make me feel better towing in OD vs 4th gear if I could keep watch of the trans temps. View attachment 252274

You could get an Esky, Denali or 2500 cluster with the factory trans gauge. I think up to 04 1/2 it's pnp. I used an 04 Esky cluster in my 03 Hoe and it works great.

But he has a NV4500 trans is what he’s saying so he needs to add a sensor in it plus wire it to the bcm or gauge. That part is not PNP.

That may still be the easiest and cheapest way to do it. A sensor is cheap and so are the coolers with the ports, wiring it up can't be to bad. Did the regular auto trucks have a sensor in the tranny to read trans temp? If there's wiring down there I might be able to splice right into that.

Guess I'll start looking for clusters in the classifieds. I don't really have a desire for a bling bling cluster anyway. Doesn't match the truck.

I'm not really sure about the wiring. I think up til 04 it'll work, even if yours didn't originally come with one--but I forgot you have a stick, not an auto so Idk if it'll work for you.

Yeah I will have some wiring to figure out for sure. My buddy with the stick denali has trans temp on his cluster but it doesn't work. Been trying to get him interested in doing it since he doesn't have to fork out money for a cluster. I probably even have a oil temp sensor in a parts bin somewhere. Maybe when we get bored of working on stuff because it's all so reliable we will tackle that .

I really really want cruise control to work need to dig into that. His Denalis cruise control works so I need to compare wires.
