Take the center caps off and leave them off and see if the noise stops. I have heard of them flexing on a wheel causing intermittent/strange noises. Your description of two pieces of plastic hitting each other is now a different description. I know you are trying to describe it the best you can but unless one of us can hear it, all we have is your description of the noise. Make sure all lug nuts are properly tightened as well.

Don't I know it but the sound could also be changing depending on what is actually causing the noise. Like chasing a dog's tail.

Yeah I’m sorry guys, doing the beat I can I’m trying to be as helpful as possible, it’s just a weird sound. It sounds like plastic but it’s a deep tone. It just don’t sound like something solid and it really don’t sound metal. Anyone happen to be around upstate South Carolina haha! I have only had this thing 2 days but I love it. It’s quite an upgrade from my little Toyota Highlander I was driving. But anyways I’ll remove the center caps tomorrow and drive it around some. I’ll also inspect the fender liners. I cant see anywhere that it is rubbing or anything like that but possibly flooping?

I know this is from way out in left field but could it be something on your keychain banging against your steering column?

Awesome thinking actually but nothing really hangs down far enough to actually make contact with the knee bolster. When my wife got in a few mins ago I feel like I heard something so I may get her to jump up and down on the side while I crawl underneath but she’s probley not big enough to make it happen multiplied times

Today I bought a 2008 Tahoe Ltz after selling my 2002 Yukon mid last year. I test drove it and had no issues. But after I drive it home, my wife wants to ride. So we go out riding around. When we got almost home I noticed a rattle of sort coming from what seems to be the front left wheel. It seems to only do it while turning right then a very short time after going Straight. Then after a few seconds it stops. When I turn right again it returns. Turning left it makes no noise. Anyone heard of this?

I know what this is. it took me and my 3 teenagers to find it. this rattle was driving me nuts. its the swap bar bushings links. they where just slightly crushed enough to do exactly what your describing. opened the two from doors and had them them hanging on the doors to get max leverage to rock the vehicle back and forth. me and my other teenage got on either side of the front of the vehicle. took about 5 mins of this. and I found the issue. when the body would roll i heard the noise on the drivers side. and located the the slightly crushed sway bar bushings. the other side was fine. but i replaced both.

I looked at them they really don’t look bad but they’re cheap and easy to replace so I may go grab some today and change all 4 and how it works. Thanks
