I know what this is. it took me and my 3 teenagers to find it. this rattle was driving me nuts. its the swap bar bushings links. they where just slightly crushed enough to do exactly what your describing. opened the two from doors and had them them hanging on the doors to get max leverage to rock the vehicle back and forth. me and my other teenage got on either side of the front of the vehicle. took about 5 mins of this. and I found the issue. when the body would roll i heard the noise on the drivers side. and located the the slightly crushed sway bar bushings. the other side was fine. but i replaced both.
Are you talking about the links or the bushings in the middle of the sway bar?

I'd replace all since they're so cheap and the replacement ones are a firmer plastic material so the bar works better.

I have been working on this crap all day did 3 no problem the last two both bolts broke off. So I have been drilling all day and not sure what I’m going to do now cause I can’t get one out.

You live in a salty area? I'm fairly "unfamiliar with rust", but James had a similar problem with his that I think he just recently resolved. Let's see what he can say about it @swathdiver

I don’t live in a salty area but the truck came from up north. So I’m not used to seeing rust either. Although this ones really not that bad with rust. It has a little. But nothing extreme. Either way I just finished up getting those in and now the rattle is almost gone. A lot quieter and a whole lot less frequent. So it helped but I feel like it’s gonna drive me crazy.

Was that the end links and bushings or the bushings and bracket that secure the swaybar to the frame? You mentioned 5 bolts so I'm kinda confused.

I'm speaking of the sway bar links. if that is whats rusting, just cut those bad boys out. hack saw samurai sword, truck and a chain don't bother trying to save it.

I haven’t changed those. But they look ok. I guess I’ll change those soon

So there are four bolts there and a couple of them broke on you? Were they broke already and bent the bracket or got broke when you tried to remove them? BTDT!

There are 8 bushings on the end links, 4 per side, and they dry up and fall off. Don't over-torque the new ones, I think it's 17 foot pounds. Check your control arm bushings while you're crawling around down there.
