2012 Suburban LTZ 4wd Inspection - Have questions

Discovered the rear HVAC/radio control module wouldn’t work. The buttons illuminate, but no display or function. I can turn on the rear air via the front control.

Pulled the back console panel off to investigate and it looks like a soft drink was spilled. The buttons depress and release very slowly. Prob gummed up with the left over syrup.

I guess I’m buying one. Do they have to be programmed?

I may have to look into picking up a Tech2.

So I’m noting the bulb types to replace with LED and come across the middle lens on the overhead screen. I guess it’s there for looks?

Lol, they will be lower power, dimmable LEDs. Either 5000K or 4300K temperature. Similar to what the factory is putting in the K2XXs (they may use closer to 6000k). They should work with the theater lighting behavior the GMT900s do when the dome lights turn on/off.

I’m also planning to do front and rear footwell LEDs like the 2015-2020.

meh, the k2xx single led's suck (in my opinion) there in my Silverado they put out crap for light I would change them in a heartbeat but they made them pretty integrated with the trim

That's cool. My eyes like LEDs that mimic incandescent bulbs. Keep us posted on your progress.

Agree. I’ve replaced most (still a work in progress) all of my dash, and controls, etc.. with LEDs (blue), but I haven’t -and don’t expect to swap any bulbs meant to illuminate the interior with LEDs. If I do, I’ll be looking for the closest match to incandescent color and brightness I can find. TBH, after adding the footwell lights in my NBS, it’s already bright as I want it, maybe brighter.

All for LEDs and their reduced power consumption but when we saw some examples of interiors, they were way too bright for my wife and I. Years ago, I put incadescent looking LED headlights on several of our RC Tanks and at night they look exactly like a car coming down the road from a distance even though they are 1/16 scale models essentially.
