I'm wondering if a module has a poor connection, warped board, etc and the temp changes cause a connection to be made intermittently. The other thought I have is the push to start button. Perhaps you have a set of contacts that aren't fully opening or closing as they should. Corrosion can also be a culprit if it got inside a module somehow and is creating a path to ground.
I chased a weird E-Stop fault on a new CAT generator one time that would keep it from starting. All switches operated as they should. Ended up being a small amount of corrosion on a group of contacts that was holding continuity when it shouldn't have. You might have something similar. Or a BCM that is on the fritz.
