Its funny how quickly you get used to power. One of the worst things about modding.

I swore my truck felt weak and thought something was wrong. So I got my hptuners out and timed a 0-60 run.

Felt like it was crawling to 60.

Subtracted end time minus start time and got 5.36 seconds. Thats a full 2 seconds faster than my modded 5.3 was.

I guess the sheer weight of the vehicle makes it hard to feel the difference.

It's tough, almost impossible to judge performance increases by the seat of your pants, it must be measured.

I put a set of drag radials on my Buick once, snatched the left front tire off the ground but lost three tenths and 3 miles an hour through the traps. Same thing happened with a 9" high stall torque converter. Felt great but were duds performance wise.

Yes my butt dyno is terrible. I had the same experience putting 4.10s in my old C5. It felt ridiculously fast, but it went no faster from a low roll. I still got smoked by my buddies CTSV lol.

Then I put the 3.42s back in but added more power (felt slower) and then beat him.

One thing I am not liking is my coolant temps seem too high with the replacement mishimoto.

I am consistently 208-216 and it's only 45-50 degrees outside. Fans even kick on periodically.

My radiator cap was bad (it literally fell apart) and I just replaced that, so maybe some air got in there. Also when I did the water pump, I got the professional not the OEM replacement AC/Delco.

Any suggestions?

Edit
Wow looking at the reviews of the professional pump version, lot of 1 stars. I think I will replace it with the OEM for peace of mind since I am going on a road trip soon.

It's an LS engine- Your rad would have to be pretty bad to make it run hot!

Also, it's an LS engine- An air bubble will make it peg the gauge.

When it's at hot operating temperature, see if the upper rad hose is firm.

I took my vette out the other day, been a while and i decided i neesed to get everything warm and boil off any condensation in the fluids.

It felt slower than my tahoe for some reason.

I passed people like they were standing still, but i guess i just don't get the suspension squat like the hoe does.

And that vette does 0-60 in the high 3's-low 4s
(Pretty fkn good for a C4)

Mmm carpart.

Found some 6.2's and 6.0's for around 3k
:hmmm2:

I also see a wall of mileage that's identical to a bunch of different sellers.
Sounds totally legit.

When I bought mine, I found a bunch with that price. Then I search reviews of the junkyards and they came back 1 stars. Also most places require a core back to them or they add on another core charge.

I found a place with 5 stars and made them an offer of $3500 shipped and they took it.

Gettin truck ready for a road trip to Williamsburg.

Got some new brakes coming. I just went with the Centric premium with ceramic pads. Got all redline fluids for the diffs and transfer case as well. Pretty sure my transfer case has had the autotrac2 in it for like 50k miles, whoops. I'll do that + change the water pump just in case along with a fresh battery. Still on same battery I bought truck with back in '17. I get the service battery message occasionally so it's probably time.

This is the first long test with the new engine though other than sounding awful on winter cold starts, it's had zero problems.

I have the 6.2 in an Escalade.

It runs hot when it's working hard. There is a dual-fan setup out there.. did you do that? How about an oil cooler? Sounds like you already did the radiator swap..
