anyone know what a more fair quote woulda been

My only issue with the quote is Performabuilts http://www.performabuilt.com/4l80e.html top of the line 4l80e with billet cover converter is $4200 shipped!! I'm not sure if this would be the same trans as yours, but even with $1000 install you are a little over half way to your quote and you still have your trans to swap/sell whatever.

With the power you are shooting for PT.net seems to be the place, but even a commoner like myself on the TYFarm can see something don't add up with that original quote. and forget a stock pump if you are shooting north of 700rwhp..sounds like bad mojo..

thanks a million, i registered on performancetrucks and am currently awaiting approval(think theyre makin sure im not spam), let yall know how it goes, and no worries, im not gonna leave yall for them, though i might be leavin my performance shop soon, with those asinine prices, it seems as if everyone in LA is trying to **** you, gay or straight, they dont give a ****, i need to write a long letter to my performance shop telling them that im not gay and that they need to quit trying to **** me, and if i were ever to go gay, i dont think i would start out with old fat white guys, matt damon's more my type, haha jk

6L80 is a pretty stout tranny as it is. Lots of the TBSS guys running 500+HP with a 4L80, which is the same as the 6L80, just two less gears.. How much power are you wanting to make? Usually for a fully built, bullet proof tranny that you will not grenade, expect to pay about $5k.

its not the same, the 6l80 is actually smaller than the 4L60, which is smaller than the 4L80..

They are vastly different, they just share a similar name.

Yea, you right, I was thinking of the 6L90. The 6L80 is still a stout tranny. Lots of Camaro guys running 10s on a bone stock tranny with stall converters.

Not sure about TVS2300. For that engine TVS 1900 need to be installed. With all that parts you'll have approx 700-720hp with standart pulleys, so it's up to you wether you want to have more. As for transmission it is better to send yours to Level10 for an upgrade and to buy new converter from them. So you'll see the price difference.
