Ok crisis averted. The GMT80010bolt splash shields and parking brake will bolt directly onto the GMT900 9.5sf. Just have to pull the c clips remove the axles and yada yada.

Also got the U joint converter adapter dude installed. Didn't realize how nice of a driveshaft this thing has. 20200427_202224.jpg 20200427_202219.jpg 20200427_202203.jpg 20200427_194729.jpg 20200427_194737.jpg

Got a good bit done tonight. Gonna have to source different or make my own brake lines. Need a different U joint strap for the 1350 on the axle side. Other than that parking brake is good to go shocks are bolted up as are upper links. Lowers are bolted to frame just gave up bolting to axle because I had to go do some data logging for a buddy.

Used a huge stainless fender washer and some grade 8 bolts to add to the bling bling of the lower links.

Crazy how big the 9.5 looks shoved up in it's new home. Also here's some G80 spider gear missing teeth from the 10bolt. Guess it was on it's way out. 20200428_002548.jpg 20200427_192443.jpg 20200427_192453.jpg

Yikes, just in time eh?

On the GMT900s with the 9.5 axle, there are two part numbers specific for brake lines for use with that axle. 176-1541 and 18J4618. I remember Randy saying he didn't need new lines when he installed his but I kept the numbers just in case.

Yep I had no idea it was ready to blow. The PO said he blew up a Yukon Duragrip when the truck had 4.10s or 3.73s. After that he found a used G80 and 3.42 gears to stick in it. So I assume it looked nice and new a year or so ago.

That's great info on the brake lines! I will have to look into those. I have the lines from the 9.5 but they aren't going to work unless I modify where it attaches to the "Hanging line" GMT800 is a single line that connects where the GMT900 has 2 lines that come down.

Worst case scenario I just make all new lines I have the tools its just a pain in the butt.

I didn't realize those part numbers were for the center connections. I'm struggling to find a decent diagram that shows the rear line routing on the GMT800 suvs. Wondering if its possible to just get 176-1541 and use the 9.5 brake lines I have.

Sorry that I left that out, it was way past my bed time when posted! Do you have an AllData DIY subscription? Might be in there, don't recall seeing mine either from a diagram.

On my truck, the left and right rear lines are the same regardless of axle, it's those center ones that are axle specific.

It was far past my bedtime as well and I'm paying for it now......Zzzzzzzzzzzz..........

No I don't have an all data subscription honestly this is the first I've ever heard of them. Usually GM parts direct has IPBs for everything but in this case they don't which is odd. I think I'll pick up the center connection for the GMT900 and if that works then great if not I'll return it and go custom.

I did just find 1350 series straps and bolts in town which is nice. I don't think the drive shaft will need any modifications besides the one U joint.

Anyone interested in the 10bolt? I'm located in central Florida but don't mind driving an hour or so to meet 6 feet apart. Really don't expect to get much out of it $50 maybe? Anyone in desperate need or want the 3.42s? G80 is pretty much toast but shafts, gears and housing are still fine.
