nice tahoe dude love those wheels what kinda tires are those

The tires are Dunlop Rover M/T 275/65R20.

They have been giving me some minor body rub turning in & out of parking spots unfortunately. I noticed yesterday that the rubbing had chipped/cracked the paint on the front valence where they were catching (nobody else notices it when I ask, but my eye seems to pick it out right away).

I removed the black air dam yesterday to get rid of some of the rub, and finally got up the nerve today to trim the valance a bit. It looks like the previous owner started trimming it, but never finished the job...or had slightly smaller tires when he did it since the tires looked brand new when I bought it (still had the "nubbins" on them an no tread wear).

Just took my time with a dremel cutting wheel and the rubbing is gone and the trim is barely noticeable. Now I have to do a minor touch up job on the chipped/cracked paint & decide if I want to trim/re-install the black air dam or just leave it off. It seems that is another thing that nobody notices is off but me. :)

Was nervous about taking a dremel to the Tahoe I have only owned 2 weeks, but convinced myself when I realized I could get a replacement valance on-line for about $350 if I messed up...That is a hell of a lot cheaper than a new set of slightly smaller tires.

looks really good... i removed my air dam, all of the lower plastic body trim, and trimmed the plastic on the inner fender wells to prevent any rubbing. you won't miss any of that stuff.

Hey Creeto...Do you have any pics of the trim work you did on your inner fender wells. I still have an occasional minor rub that I have to trim away and want to see how someone else trimmed theirs.

Thanks in advance.

These flat Texas roads down make for much flexing, so I also want to see what I should trim out of the way before I take it to the mountains of upstate NY on vacation this summer.

Your kit is a 4 inch Rancho lift. Rancho only make a 4inch for the "new" tahoes.
