I am thinking of putting crossbars on a 15 Yukon XL Denali. Anyone know of any problems or issues with having them on the vehicle? Any wind noise issues?

There are "whisper" versions that are more aerodynamic. Are those necessary or any better?

Do they effect mileage or performance? I imagine any mileage/performance issues would be negligible seeing as the damn thing is so big a heavy already.

If I install them, does it need a fairing?

Thanks for the input.

I have them on my Tahoe and I get intermitten vibration noise. I have tightened them as much as I can and still no help with the noise. These are GM bars. I would be curious to know if others are experiencing this as well. As far as performance I don't feel that has been effected. Can't answer about the mileage as I only have about 300 hundred miles on the truck. Hope this helps and hope others will chime in.

No fairing needed. I installed OEM bars on mine the day after my Yukon arrived. I used the chinsey torque wrench that came with them and tightened to spec. Install was easy, it took about 15 minutes. I've had them for about 350 miles and I can't even tell they're on. The real test will be when I put my cargo box on.

Here are a few photos of mine. I think they stick up a little higher than other vehicles I've had, but I don't hear any wind noise.

Like Nord i got oem cross bars. Pretty happy with them. I do like they are high as sometime I have to carry the one plankers stuff! Noise isn't an issue but with ski racks and skis.. you will get noise ONLY when sun roof is cracked open or fully open. uploadfromtaptalk1426292928643.jpguploadfromtaptalk1426292997981.jpg

I've got the OEM bars and haven't noticed any extra noise. I've also got a skit rack on there currently. It should come off soon but I'm in denial about the season being over.

Yakima cross bars? I don't think there are available as of yet for our vehicles. I checked about month ago before I bought the OEM cross bars and they were not available. May want to check Thule.

Haven't looked specifically. Ok, anyone have issues with Thule?

Looks like they all look like the factory installed versions.
