Automatic ac/heat head unit

Is the power button on the auto ac controls (little circle) supposed to be lit when the vehicle's lights are on? My ext. warranty is up in a month and this little guy is driving me nuts and sending my OCD into overdrive. Never paid attention to it before last week when I noticed it. Thanks in advance. 2005 Yukon if it matters.

That's correct. Get it replaced while you can. All the damn bulbs eventually go out in our trucks. Good luck.
