Sh*t I didn't even look at it when I picked up my truck from the muffler shop. I went out to take a look just awhile ago and it's NOT what we agreed on. It's a Fliwmaster 50 series but its a 2-into-1 with no friggin merge pipe! Arrrggghhh. I hate dishonest shops. I've had these guys do other work for me so I trusted them. I hate it when a shop builds your trust just so they can screw you later. I'm going back tomorrow and I hope I can get this done the way I wanted. Their paperwork is always lacking in a description of work done. It DOES say 3" CB which I assume stands for collector box but there's nothing that could be called a collector box there. I assumed that was the merge pipe. And the muffler is listed as a 525345 which doesn't even correspond to a Flowmaster part number. Sh*t.

But it sounds like I wanted- no resonance inside, great under throttle. A bit quieter at idle than I wanted but that's OK. When I get on it it sounds awesome. Just not what they got paid for.

Dude if you told them a flow master merge and that's not what's under there?
I was actually shocked when you posted that you was having a shop install one as most shops don't even know what it is much less have it in stock.

Take some pics and lemme see what's under there before you get all menopause on them.
But this is not uncommon for exhaust shops to hack and slash a merge.

It's a Flowmaster muffler with 2 inputs. No merge pipe. Muffler is kind of twisted, not laying flat. They just replaced my stock muffler and way overcharged me. And did I mention it's not even mounted flat? iAnd if the stocker was flat, why isn't this one? Excuse the pictures, my truck is hard to get under since it's lowered. Plus it's dark.

Yea that's kinda poop.
But, depending on installed price and promised parts. Yea I would go and beech!

Laying flat isn't so much of a concern as not hanging down below frame.

They inlet side is also undersized for your pipes. That's a big problem.
It also looks like they made a entire new "over the axle" pipe.
Hard to tell, but "if" the outlet on that muffler is the same as the inlet. You have a ginormous restriction.
That's a big if..

Good luck tomorrow, do not take no for a answer until you get what you paid for bud. If they won't or can't supply what you asked for. Put that shot back to stock on their dime and find anew shop that can give you what you want.

This is exactly why I bought my own welder, sawzall, grinder and taught myself to weld.

They took care of me although it didn't end up with a Flowmaster merge, its a clean job with a nice merge and they ended up using a Super 44 muffler. I don't know why they went with that one but its a bit louder and I like it. Took a 200 mile drive today and it feels like I gained some power. It sounds awesome anyway, and I didn't experience any drone or bad sound, just a nice rumble like a V8 should sound. I'm happy.
