More load carrying capacity I think. Not sure
That is the only advantage on these SUVs.
Non progressive springs don't ride good on the rear of these trucks though. In the front, the strut design may help a non progressive spring ride better, but with the SA in the rear, non progressives is not what's up.
To run a non progressive in the rear worth 3" or more of drop would mean a really stiff short spring (like the DJM coils), or a tall low spring rate (soft) spring. Both of those routes would leave one pretty pissed off.

on solid axle set up from what i saw the linear springs create a better ride also TONS more area for the helper bags to work better.

Look at my 6" drop springs. LINEAR and everyone that tested here loves them. Also with people in back loaded up the linear springs ride better.

People will go back and fourth on this but ill be doing a linear 3-4 inch spring. DJMS spring is linear and mine is linear but mine rides better. Just goes into the coil windings you have also height and thickness. For a 4 inch drop DJM COILS do ride stiff thats why I perfer as many others here like the 5305s

On a side note...... is it fair to say the NNNBS will be IRS like the Expeditions? This will be a strut like set up then right?

I had a 2003 Expedition and the seats would fold flat in the 3rd row. Could not take them out like ours.

Solid axle looks like from one pic where it showed a side view and you could see the lower a arms. Independent suspension would be nice though.

Yeah that is already out of the question as the spy pics show otherwise.
Had it been the new model were IRS, it would pretty difficult to get static drops 3" or more because camber would become a real issue for the rear.
