What could be causing the brake pedal to be real hard when I apply the brakes on my 05 YD

check first for a leaking hose at the booster. the vac line off the booster provides the boost assistance when you Press the brake pedal. There is a diaphragm inside of the brake booster if the diaphragm is leaking suction. You need to replace the brake booster itself. But check the lines going to the brake booster and see if it is leaking some of it suction.

You are feeling non-power assisted breaking.

VikingTrad3r, I changed the hydrobooster and didnt notice much of a difference. I also noticed the steering gear leaking from the pitman joint. I'll be changing that out this weekend hopefully that will it fix the problem and keep it from creating a suction

He doesn't have a vacuum booster. He has hydroboost which uses hydraulic pressure to assist in braking from the power steering system.

yep most ive seen use the same fluid as the power steering so that leak in turn should fix the low pressure of the hydroboost.
