Hey all sorry for the lag not checking in sooner but I had a little excitement in my life so slowing down again. I had the opportunities to flip some real estate and cars for a friend as a side project plus was my best friends best man at his wedding.
So here's my take away after 6 months owning the Tahoe, about 4k miles:
Nitto crossteks are far superior to the Alenzas that it came with
Premium gas is best for engine responsiveness, noticeably better than regular. E85 makes the engine run well but the 30% power loss is not fun.
The truck was great for camping and mudding at country thunder.
My Chevy dealer fixed my rear defroster cable for free when I had noticed it had broken right after purchase. Chevy also comp'd me on "servicing" my doors when I noticed they were collecting water. The dealership is really working to earn my business.
The service guy at the dealership recommended I do the 4x4 system maintenance since its past 50k miles but the owners manual says that they recommend it at 50k for severe use and 100k for regular use... I don't know about the previous owner but I know I have not used it severely. Wondering what you guys think, should I do the 4x4 maint. Now?
Last: my dog has taken to sitting in the front passenger seat with me and I'm sick of using towels to cover the seat. Any recommendation for companies that make fitted seat covers?
All in all no more hickups with the Tahoe. She's big, mean, and the yuppies driving hybrids around me look at me with disdain and I love it, then downshift.
