I don't care hugely about it recognizing me. Like you said, you can just punch the 1 or 2 when you open the door. But, it all works...recognition and all...UNLESS I actually autostart the car. I can unlock/disarm, put the key in, and it recognizes me as long as it's not running already. I should add that I still have the OEM remote on the key chain...not sure what it'll do when I take that off.

Interesting.

Having my buddy re-program the wife's remote tonight. I'm taking away her old remote after that. I think what happened is this: I locked/armed the truck last night with the Viper remote. This morning, not needing to autostart it and not being familiar with her new toys yet, my wife thought she was making it easy by just using the OEM remote to unlock, which it did, but it didn't disarm the alarm, apparently. So when she opened the door all hell broke loose.

My wife doesn't yell/cuss often, or really ever hang up on me, but this morning I got both when she was at the school, alarm going off, punching buttons like mad to make it stop, and trying to get me to tell her what to do....lol.

The weird part is that I somehow remembered the bypass on the antennae, told her to hit the button to try to stop the alarm, which it did. But about 30 seconds later it went off again.

Observation:

My autostart automatically turns on the heated seats. My installer did nothing to tell it to do this, so it may be a built in data signal that turns them on below a certain temp.

Bypass module is on the way so I will try and get the alarm in next week while the wife and kids are in Vegas-just got transfered so I'm sending her and the twins on a vacation to let me get settled. I'm willing to pay ANYTHING to have the house to myself for 10 days ;)
