If I had days off It would be done but I only get a day and a half off this week. I need to do a lot of fitting on the brackets I cut off the old axle as well. I think I'm going to measure how far down I can hang the shock mounts off the axle without going below the bottom of the diff so I can get the longest length of shock without sticking anything through the bed. The Deaver springs I have are capable of something like 21" of travel, I know I will have to bump and strap it less than that but I want to use as much of what I paid for as possible. So if I hang it down low I need to make some gussets or something to make sure they don't get ripped off on trails.

why not 4link it with coilovers ?

Cause I already have nice springs, and the front will never be a full long travel kit. I don't want the extra width of long travel or the extra cost of ownership. I plan to put 10k miles or more a year on this truck when its done. Another good thing about leafs is they are about as simple as foolproof as they can be and when you're as dim-witted as I am that's a huge bonus.

The problem with them is, when you're a clutch-dumping drool monkey as I am, those flexy Deavers can lead to some hellacious axle wrap.
