Ok....So I am a newb here but I have read many posts by you and have a ton of respect for you. This comment is in NO WAY meant to be offensive towards you but..........YOUR FRIEND IS SMOKING SOME SERIOUS CRACK!! I am by no means a Toyota nut ******* but I happen to know A LOT about them. Their V8's are some of the best on the planet since 2003! Sucks changing a timing belt on the 4.7 and I don't have that much experience with the 4.6 and had a 5.7 in my 2013 Tundra. Wow...those engines are amazing! I have a 2008 GX470 that I am replacing with my 2006 Yukon but I am already missing the engine. I just hate the vehicle!

I would strongly dispute that claim. Toyota just tore down a million mile Tundra, 2007 model. The guy had no failures other than routine maint and I think an alternator.
People have had AIP failures on the tundras, but that seems to be 2007-2013 models. If it were wide spread problems it would be all over the Tundratalk forum, and it isn't. I have a hard time believing how bad Tundras are on Chevy Forums
To top it off, if Tundras were having such reliability problems, their value would be garbage. I traded my 2016 with 12k Miles for 37k. I bought it for 38 and change with a sticker of 42.

The 2002-2007 model toyota trucks and sequoia were bulletproof. I have several friends with seqouias like the one i wanted before i bought my denali. And they run like tanks. My dad had a 2004 quad cab tundra that he put well over 200k on without a single problem. I was hoping he'd pass it down to me. But instead he traded it in a couple years ago on a 2014 and the 2014 has been a hunk of crap since he bought it. Every month it's in shop for something wrong. He keeps complaining that his truck is a lemon and wants a new one. Yet doesn't do anything about it haha. I also have a few clients with 2008 and newer tundras that have been plagued with problems. From what I've seen these newer models have not been very reliable. But that's just what I've seen. I don't have one so I'm sure there are gold and bad ones.
Just going by what he said. His was a 2012 I believe and I know he lost a ton of money when he sold it. Maybe his fear was unfounded but he seemed to have done his homework. I did some googling and to some extent it seems to be true that there are some issues with the cams in the 2007-2014's but I found more about the major frame rusting problems as well as a host of other problems. I don't know much though because I've never been a fan of Toyota trucks. I think the Sequoia's are about the ugliest SUV ever made, personally. But that's just me. Their cars are definatetely rock solid but boring as well.

Ya know, i was gonna stay out of this thread because i was like 'yeah, i love my tahoe'.... i held on to my '01 for 12 yrs and thought id do the same with my '13....but then i saw a black nnbs platinum escalade esv awd the other day and I've been crunchin numbers on my truck and scouring the internet ever since....not sure it will happen but damn those are nice trucks....if i can find a 13 or 14 with the right mileage and for the right price.... you never know.... just not into the '15 up body style yet....

@Galante , I know, I see the newer nnbs denali and escalades all the time and I'm just like..... One day.... Lol. Last week I was detailing for some friends from my old church, and their street is pretty narrow. I was parked as far off the pavement as I could but still sticking out. The city bus came through and almost wrecked my truck cuz he was being a complete du,bass and driving too fast in a residential area. My friends were like that would totally suck if he hit your car. I'm all "kinda, but then again it's fully insured and if the bus totals it, my insurance will pay out and I can buy a newer one!" Haha. I know that's bad......
Now who's smoking crack? You guys seriously like the look of the NNBs over the NBS? I say no way- the NBS are the best-looking bodystyle. Except for the 2015-up but those have too many problems for me. I think when they went to the NNBS, especially the escalades and the Denali's, they made a huge mistake. They got rid of all the body cladding that made the Denali's look way different than the Yukons or Tahoes. And then there's the front ends on the NNBS Denali's. I don't like them at all, they look like a smiley face to me. Almost as bad a design as the cat-eye Silverado's or as I call them the Angry Bird Silverado's. Apologies if any of you drive one, I don't mean disrespect but I just don't like them. As far as loving my truck? Hell yeah I love my truck. It's bulletproof, looks badass, it's fast and I can fix pretty much anything that goes wrong with it. For a 15-year old vehicle, I get a lot of compliments and I fully expect to get another 10-15 years out of it. And it will still be faster and look better than 95% of the vehicles on the road.

I agree @Red Rocket , I think our body style is better because there are so many things that make them different from a regular Yukons and Tahoes. Yes the NNBS have some flaws, but I still like them a lot. One day I,will have an NNBS Denali or esky. Lol. But I still love my nbs and hope that it goes for a long time.
