So I still didn’t have any luck with the lock tool in the 5456 kit and after convincing TSP to send me the 5460 I can now say the cam phaser is complete.

If you look at the picture you might be able to tell the difference between the two lol. The phaser block appeared to be exactly the same.

Hurray!! Guess I will order the 5460 from now on if it's easier. Now just make sure that you get that dowl located properly!! Pull it off and on 30 times if needed to make sure, it has bitten many people that got penisy. Lol

Sorry for my ignorance but what dowl are you talking about?

The dowel on the camshaft that goes into the vvt assembly. It's easy to just barely miss it and you don't know it because you can't see it.

I have an appointment for a Dyno tune on Monday the 14th but I want to fire it up this weekend to ensure I have no leaks and everything is working correctly.

Is there any harm in using the AFM disabler until it gets tuned?

The cats are deleted too, will this cause any issues like Low power mode?

No problem to disable and run. It will fire perfect while cold, but could have some idle surging when warmed up. Cats won't matter beyond the engine light being on, they won't change any engine parameters.

Just make sure the afm disable is on, it will default to 4 cylinders if not.

Oh yeah, and take it easy on the way to the tune. You won't be able to hurt the engine, but your tranny can take some damage without a proper tune. It's not like the old days, the 6, 8, and 10 speeds rely on the engine tune as part of their inputs for proper line pressure calculations and such. And don't forget to bring your cam settings supplied by TSP for your tuner to input.

Thank you as always for your wealth of knowledge.

I didn't even think on how the trans reacts to the engine, it completely makes sense. I may just end up towing it but I'm going to order one of those ODB AFM disablers to test the engine and my work for leaks.

I have a list of mods and the TSP card in the truck already.
