yup. Not for a 1st-timer DIY project.
Hope you follow some tips I posted at HIDPlanet on the conversion.

Properly sealing the unit is crucial !

Nice work.

a lot of work

so i undertook this mission on my own. with no experience whatsoever in any electrical work of anykind somehow i got it to work. made a few mistakes on the way. you have to remove the oem led that are allready there, the lights will not look right(foto below). I am redoing mine right now because the oem led were a lot brighter then the ones i installed aftermarket. I did not have a hot glue gun, i had so glue sealant that i tried to use first but that didnt work so i used superglue wich worked just fine. For resistors i used 10W 220 ohm 220R Aluminium clad Resistor 10 W Watt x 1 and 5 Watt 39 ohm 39R Metal Oxide Film Resistor R 5W (10), after looking at other peoples pics these look a little big but did the job. had it on my car for about a week then decided that i need to take the oem leds out and just use all aftermarket to give it the same look. i used these lights (60) Genuine AGILENT Red-Orange LEDs ◄ MATCHED SETS ►. will take more pictures after i'm done with the new leds and post them

Re-glue the red lense?

some more cell phone pics, dont feel like locating and charging my camera right now

Up close of some of the leds, you can see here why I ground down the back of the reflectors, If I didnt the leds would sit an little more that an 1/8" back and would look different than the ones that were already there

and some day pics in direct sunshine

Looks really great. I am determined to make one like you. Were you concerned about cutting the Red Lense apart in a perfect line? How did you glue it back together after you were through installing the LEDs?
