Esky Third Lighting issue

Ok here's one for you. I bought a grey one off Ebay..."new", in my excitement to get it on I had it color matched Olympic Wht and smoked before testing. I installed it today and only the center is lighting up. Any ideas how to fix this?

That's how it's supposed to function. :)

If you look at the light bar closely there are no leds on the sides.

Forgive my ignorance. I knew to all of this. I bought a Tahoe and then found this site showcasing mods and dove in feet first. I read in a thread where it was plug and play so I went for it!! So you're telling me that everyone who has this third light lit up all the way went through all of that in the link you posted!! That's wayyyy over my head.

Here's the result: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...48902819.41836.124110177686177&type=1&theater

Yup, all of us who upgraded to esky 3rds and everyone who owns an esky has exactly the same thing ... truck looks good btw, but that much tint will always rob the leds of their output.

SoulSea: You think its too much? I asked in previous post what to tell the painter...again I don't know squat! I was told 80% clear and 20% black. That's what he mixed...it may be too dark, but it looks nice in the daytime. How much would you charge to rig me up a full third light? Do you do that?

BTW...how do I get email alerts from this post...I have to keep checking in to see if anyone replied.

SuperchargedSS. Thanks.

I'm about to wrap here in a week or so. It'll be storm trooper white with graphics. Basically a matte white.

Well, tinting lights is always a compromise between aesthetics and safety, and whatever your local laws dictate. Have someone drive your truck in front of you and look at the light output with an honest eye. You'll know if it's too dark or if it's good. But again, local law may usurp your interpretation and if they are too dark leo will let you know via a summons.

I do not know how to add leds to anything. :) I just linked the thread of someone who does. I am however discussing having it done by a member on a lighting forum. If he's up to it, I've already informed him that I may have quite a few folks interested in the service.

I'll let you and everyone else know how that goes.
