Wife and I were en route to a school meeting this morning at 0815. I saw the squad car and watched him look at us as we drove by, he pull out, sped up and lit us up. I knew we weren't speeding, so I turned off the 35mph road and stopped.
He very cautiously approached and kept a safe distance, hand on his sidearm and asked me about my windshield tint, telling me it must be above the A1 line and then pulled the meter out to check the driver's window (11%) and the driver's rear window (2%).
He took my license and registration back to his car to run his report and returned with 3 copies of my citation.
RESTRICTION FOR WINDOW BEHND DRV / Rear Side Window @ .02% Must Remove
Section 316.2954-1
Tint darkness for SUV and vans:
Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.
Front Side windows: Must allow more than 28% of light in. Back Side windows: Must allow more than 6% of light in. Rear Window: Must allow more than 6% of light in.
I had asked the wife numerous times to get the note from the dermatologist for this reason. So she called today and I'm hoping that the doctor will take care of this request for both trucks, so that this doesn't present an issue down the track.
So many shit boxes and ****** drivers on the road and he hits me for tint in the cleanest Suburban on the road. Grrr....at least he was nice about it, but seriously?
