I am the 2nd owner and was out of my 3yr/36k factory warranty. Mine is an 07 with 47k on it. I think the year and mileage an irrelevant. Its fairly obvious to any objective person that there are the same cracks in the same places on these cars. To me, there isn't any geographic correlation or anything to suggest it is driver neglect or abuse.

do u have any photos of th elocation of the cracks all i see of peoples cracks are the ones on teh steering hump... anyone with the cracks in the corners of the airbag area?

Mine is cracked by the airbag. I don't have the truck with me right now. I would have to a pic sometime later for you.

EDIT - Type in "Cracked dash problem" on YouTube and there is a video showing about 6 or so cracked dashes on one lot. It shows cracks on both sides.

I was called by Customer Care on Saturday and I didn't have my VIN on me but he took my other information and he said someone else would contact me. They actually have called me both today and yesterday but it has been when I am busy at work so hopefully I will be able to talk to them tomorrow.

Damn crack

I have them on both the hump and at the air bag. I talked to the dealership where we get our vans serviced for my work (20 of them). Since I'm the second owner, no luck. I'm thinking of doing some custom work and rewrapping it with leather or suede, should be easier and cheaper than replacing the dash for the $400 bucks they will sell it to me for.

If you all want my two cents...I would call GM or Chevy customer service and begin a claim and have them set the appointment at your local dealer for you. You might be taken a bit more seriously by the dealer if GM (who they probably view as their 'boss' or 'corporate' or whatever) is scheduling the appointment.
