Another wear item stuck in the gas tank. I like the fact that on my 02 both the fuel filter and the FPR are not in the damn tank. I had a leak and was able to buy a service kit and repair my regulator easily. Plus I change the filter regularly. My CC has a fuel cell and that pump assembly is easily accessible without dropping the tank.

We don't even have a filter anymore, the pickup screens have always been there and now they call that the filter. I went nuts trying to find the filter on my '06 Pontiac, they quit using them too.

I noticed when I installed a new fuel pump last week they moved that screen to the inside of the module too so I couldn't even see if there was one. (the instructions mentioned it was inside) It used to be visible.

What brand pump did you by? And did you have to replace the plastic hose connections for the new pump?

AC Delco OE pump. It was in my 02. I didn't have to replace the connectors. I did have to replace the bolts and nut clips for the tank straps since they stripped out.

Replaced the fuel pump with delphi model and Bam. She's fixed. The old lines on top of the fuel pump where pretty corroded so I'm guessing there was a leak from that. Thanks for all the help.

Yes. Took about 4 hours and one broken tank hanger bolt, it was rusted and locked up, had to grind it off.
