Would I trade for a fuel efficient death trap….Hell to the NO!

Would I start saving to get a older but still reasonably low mileage decent condition 6 or 4 cylinder and use that as my DD for back/forth to work…probably but more to the story than fuel prices……I would be doing that to keep the overall mileage down on the Zed71…..right not averaging single vehicle use and a unincorporated section of a major city at 2K miles a month. Just got the dealer “First Ones Free” OLF yesterday at 6200 miles.

The average price of regular would have to get to $5.42 adjusted for inflation to meet the previous high of $4.11 in 2008.

After the long wait and the hassles I went through to get my Yukon, it's staying because I have a DD that is good on gas. Usually I drive the Yukon on the weekends only, a tank of gas lasts a long time.

Honestly, if you drive a V8 you know what you're doing and most likely you're able to afford it just, this of course doesn't apply on work cars, since if you use it for work then it will definitely affect your costs. Nonetheless, I am curious to see if they would another's gussler replacement program like 2009/2010, where we might get good trade value on our trucks. I am also seriously considering the eCrate conversion.

We bought two Tahoes partly due to full business deduction but stuck with them through the years and the gas price had historically cycled from near $4 to $2.50 and back. We never considered getting rid of either of them because we always have another more economical vehicle to use when the big one isn't needed. No regrets.
In the long run "what goes up, must come down" so we don't fret over gas prices.
We are in a good place though because we dribble $1000 repairs into ours rather than taking a mortgage out for a vehicle, again making gas a drop in the bucket compared to a new truck Invoice.

Yeah I've reconsidered but my Z71 6.2 is on the production line as we speak so there's no turning back now. If this a week after I placed my order then yeah, I may have waffled.
You don’t own it till you sign for it. They can sell it.

Just for fun, I plugged the cost of a new Yukon XL Denali the way I would want it optioned into a payment calculator ($84K, not including taxes and fees). Even with 20% down and 3% interest, the monthly payment would be more than $1200 for 60 months. That's about 3-4x more than we average in gas in our current XL Denali's, even with camping trips factored in. To be fair, like others here we don't have a commute to worry about, thankfully.

I have the 5.3L with Flex fuel... Anyone else running that? The gas station Sheetz has it in my area for $3.49. I've been running with that, but haven't polled the forum on it. My wife drove this vehicale primarily and I've recently taken it over. The goal is to keep this sucka until the wheels fall off.

Sheetz in NOT a top tier fuel so I would not buy it. Either is Wawa for that matter.

All that just IMHO.
