Gents,

Well my dealer has provided me with a pretty sweet deal that really closes the gap between the LTZ and some of the other options I was looking at. I have a few detailed questions before I pull the trigger on the LTZ - mainly around accessories:

- Love the look of the 22" wheels - anybody regret getting the 22s"? Heard the ride is a bit stiffer than 20s.. Any other issues with going up to 22" besides cost?
-Does the LTZ come with body side mouldings or do you need to order them? Most pics of the LTZ I see online have the mouldings..
- Are the factory rubber weather mats worth it or better to get after market?
- Is the trailer hit "closeout" included in the LTZ?
- Are the roof cross rails easy to add-on later?
- what make/model of tires come with the 22" rims? will this handle the first winter ok or should I get snows right off the bat?
- why the hell is White Diamond Tricoat (the color my wife loves) a $1000 upgrade:)? what is so special about this paint?
- what do you guys do to protect the hood from stone chips? Is there a deflector option or do you get the clear film?
- we have a cottage and a minor amount of off roading - sometimes through 1ft deep snow. Is the underbody protector a wise thing to get at $300?

Fantastic news! I'm very excited for you! Here's my answers, I'm sure others will also chime in.

1) Bigger wheels = thinner side walled tires so less rubber to absorb bumps. They do look great though. Also more likely to collect curb rash if you or your wife parks by feel. I opted to stick with the 20s for ride quality. Sometimes I'm a little sad about that.
2) I honestly have no idea but the dealer should know.
3) Lord no, they're awful. Buy something like the Weathertech or Husky liners. I've done weather tech in the past but got the Husky ones based on people's comments here about how they don't curl up at the edges.
4) Yes
5) Yes
6) According to Tirerack.com you'll get the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenzas. They're "all-season" tires so they're only marginally capable in the snow. If you're going to be in snow frequently, get snow tires. More Info
7) It's some fancy multi-step paint process they get to charge more for. The better question is how much is a happy wife worth to you? For my money that's the best feature available.
8) Clear film. Please don't defile the hood with one of those deflector things.
9) For $300 bucks it seems like a no brainer. I can't imaging anything under there costs less than $300 to fix if you put a rock through it. I'll be getting that simply because I drive up some mountain passes that routinely have rocks falling on them. Cheap insurance.

I have the 22's and the ride is smoother than my 13 I traded in. I also spent about four hours this weekend driving on roads with snow and ice and the stock tires performed just fine. Never slipped once. Slammed the breaks once on purpose in walmarts parking lot after picking up some steam, anti locks stopped her in a straight line.

Nice - thanks for the feedback.

Regarding the weathertech / husky. I haven't been able to find a solution that provides a liner which can work with the folding third row? Toyota had a cool concept whereby the liner was clipped to third row seats. So far I see you can get a liner for just the space behind third row or space behind second and third row. The later would require you to remove and store the liner when you use the third row.

hmm.. small details!

How is the mileage on the 22s? Folks on another thread were saying that you lose mileage on the 22s due to physics of spinning a bigger wheel from stop? I assumed it would be negligible..

Do you mean the ability to cover the cargo area with the third row up and then also cover the backs of the seats with it folded down? As far as I can determine there's no good option for that. On the GMT 900 model (the older body style) the third row didn't fold flat, which was a pain in the ass, but I got a liner to cover the whole thing and simply cut out holes for the seat mounts. Maybe get 2 cargo liners and stack them when you have the seats up? Or just order the Suburban and leave the third row up all the time. ;)

I have that under the short weathertech in the back. Again, it fits nice and protects the rest of the back.

Interesting solution. Can you take a picture? Short weathertech looks sharp and having the canvas underneath when the rows are folded would be perfect.

Just want to ensure it looks neat and tidy.
