GM Repurchased 2nd 2015 Denali--Be Cautious of 2015s

Since we brought my wife's Denali home back in December, I really haven't driven it. So, I asked my wife about any buffeting or ear discomfort, and she looked at me like I was crazy.

So, today We took it for a 100 mile ride. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary at any speed. I forgot how nice it was.

It's weird how some are affected, and GM can't seem to nail it down. Luckily, ours seems fine. But, it's only got 1,500 miles on it.

Sorry you are having a problem Jason.
I might have gotten out of my truck and asked that dealership owner to repeat that snarky quote one more time....to see if he had the stones...

Hey George, hope you are well. Glad to hear your vehicle is running great. After your wait time, you and your wife deserve it! It just baffles me how one can be great and another is just plain awful. It just makes no sense. Quality control is missing a step on these somewhere (obviously). From which supplier? Wheels, shocks, frames, etc.

There is no fix for this problem. Otherwise, GM would have identified it and issued a service bulletin to fix it. GM doesn't just give money back...they just can't fix it.

I'd be interested to have Jason go for a ride in George's denali and see what happens just for grins. I wonder if some people's ears are more sensitive to these things then others would be a good test since every one that Jason has been in has done it but George and his wife's does not do it. You both are in Buffalo. How about a quick unscientific test for TYF

Will be there in July, Jason and George going to meet with me there and I think that is a good idea. Ride with George and with me.

I have no such issue on my 2015 Tahoe. It's an LT trim, with no sun-roof.

Just curious if they tried disabling the noise canceling feature? My LT does not have that feature. If not, it seems like a vent location issue, creating a change in inside pressure, like if you were to roll down the back windows only in most vehicles.

Jason, I'm all for it. At some point, we should meet and you can take it for a spin and see.

I have to believe there is a solution, it sounds to me like there is an inconstancy in inside/outside pressure equalization. The trouble is that it can be a miriad of things.
I'm sure GM will find what part/parts are not allowing the pressures to coexist, but whatever it is, it's giving GM fits.

I was really worried about this with ours. We were getting a low drone ( not serious buffering) at low speeds in town. After taking a drive with the service guy he pointed out that only occurs when V4 mode is active at low speeds. As soon as it jumped to V8 mode it goes away. (anyone else have this) He then rolled down the rear windows a few inches at about 45 miles an hour and wow, the buffering and pressure was clearly noticeable and extremely annoying. If this is what you are feeling with the windows rolled up I can understand your frustration, and to get two of them, wow. Anyway, there was nothing they could do about the V4 rumble as I have named it. Everything else on ours has been addressed. I still feel a slight movement in the drivers seat and we had someone slightly bumped the front in a parking lot which broke a front sensor causing the entire park assist system to ding at you every time you stop in traffic.

Why GM put this part right in front of a major front structural beam I will never no, oh wait I do know, they are going to make an absolute fortune replacing the damn things at $300 bucks a pop with painting.

I have been having tranny issues on my 2013 Tahoe LT that I bought as a certified vehicle last year with 24,000 miles really like it but 2 tranny issues in less than a year and I only put on 8,000 miles since had me go back to the dealer and see what they can do on a new 2015 Tahoe. Well dealer was great to work with and the new 2015i Tahoe LT Z71 just arrived from the factory today and just go done with the test drive....so brand new build for those that think this issue if fixed....it is not!

Wow did I feel the cabin pressure and I only did 10 mile ride of speeds of 30-70mph. This is a fully loaded LT with Entertainment and Luxury package....looks awesome...rides great but now doubt I will get due to this issue! I am going back with my wife tomorrow to test again and if we feel the cabin pressure again we will pass and I guess stick with the 2013 Tahoe! Bummer but that cabin pressure and ear pressure was absolutely obnoxious!
