You can't go wrong with either but for me I would go with the newer 2022. Why? After sticking with our "old" 2007 Sequoia for many years I wanted to try some of the new electronics being offered. Tried a 2020 Pacifica, then a 2021 Grand Cherokee L, and now a 2022 Denali. All of these are so different and way different than the 2007.

Is that a good thing? Well, I like things simple but vehicles are just not that way any more. So I say embrace it, buy the latest thing you can, and accept that in 5 years it may all be obsolete anyway. Or, buy an old CJ and don't worry about all of that "new stuff"!
funny you mention the 2007 Sequoia. We have an 04 Sequoia that we are replacing with whatever we ultimately decide on. I understand what you are saying regarding the speed of tech. New is always nice!
