To catch up on the rocker thing: I'm going with new OEM. I bought some and noticed a lot of radial slack in the trunnions. I compared them to some at the dealer that were actually the previous part number that mine superseded. They had the same slack. I swear I don't remember having any slack at all in any OEM ones I've removed.

This evening, I started pulling mine out. All had the same amount of radial slack as the new ones. So, I'm at peace with it.

As an experiment for something totally unrelated, I'm installing my original push rods along with the new rockers. I got the passenger side removed and ran out of daylight. The new rockers are soaking in oil and will be installed tomorrow.

So the shaft style rockers use clips too, so they aren't any better I take it?
I might go ahead and grab the che kit to review for the forum. I was just gonna get the btr captured ones, but read about them possibly being the rebranded comp ones.

Honestly, the circlips likely aren't much of a concern. But, they are a form of spring metal and there could be a flaw in the metallurgy that will only be found in the worst way, at the worst time. It's just introducing another failure point. BTW, the clips have a sharp side and a rolled side. Put the rolled side towards the bushing.

I get it! These days, you probably can't go wrong with any of the offerings from the major suppliers. So, go with whatever milks your bull.

Or you end up like me and just like swiping that card.
My AFR heads don't have hardened tips and require roller tips.
