Not to start a war, I'm pro-gun, but you'd be severly foolish to open carry anywhere. You'd be the first target to take down if someone was going to do something really awful. I prefer to use the element of surprise and not let anyone know where I'm carrying, much less that I'm armed.

There is SOOOO much more to this debate than can be had in a half hearted effort on a truck forum... I respectfully disagree with your logic, but understand what your saying... It is a topic that I have become politically involved with through another online forum, so I agree with your "not to start a war" comment. :handshake

I agree not to get into a debate here, nor will I hate. All I have to say is Virginia (where I currently have a house) and Utah (where I "officially" reside) are both open carry states. It's rare, although not uncommon, to see somebody carrying in public. As for somebody making you a target, that's what cops do in both states when you are walking down the street minding your own business. Most people don't seem to care. This is why I carry concealed.

On my 02 I use an inside the waist band holster and clipped it to the plastic under the lid where maps go makes it super easy to grab if I needed it.

Keep the 38 between the seat and the center console. Easy to get to. The 45 is in the back, in case the zombies come and I need a few more rounds. The AR is in the house next to my bug out bag.

I know this thread is old but I thought I'd bump it up in case anyone is looking for ideas.

This is how I mounted my Blackhawk Serpa holster.

I used a piece of 1/8" thick steel and put a 90 degree bend in it. I wanted a clean install without destroying any visible piece of the interior.
I had to cut a section out of the inner dash, this isn't visible at all with the dash assembled.

I then drilled three hole so it could be mounted to the inner dash and exit through the factory seam in the dash.

Painted the bracket and mounted the Serpa holster directly to it.
