A year old thread, I know, but......

I'm wiring up my dashcam which uses a 3 wire hardwire kit that senses the accessory power turning off to enter parking mode
- ground
- constant power
- switched accessory power

The ground and constant power is no problem. I'm guessing I should use one of these RAP (retained accessory power) locations so it won't go into parking mode until after I get out of the car?

Old thread, but the issue is still relevant. I didn't want to run a wire to under the hood and no hot wire ONLY with ignition on is available in the driver side fuse panel on my 2010 Tahoe. I ended up wiring my dashcam to an open pin next to the brake pedal. a5b1c838898baa454f81bfba13f85339.jpg180bc336624c2eddeaa8878ae2c4da8e.jpg68471d1681d2e98afc113f07496c3f4c.jpg

Thank you so much for making this reply. It's exactly what I was looking for to avoid splicing into another wire/under hood route! I'm doing the exact same on my 2013 Avalanche after testing voltage this morning.
