I see many of you are a wealth of knowledge on this "HID thing" but after reading dozens maybe hundreds of posts I asking you for advice. I have a 07 Denali but dont have 1G for retrofits so what do I go with? I see numerous kits from numerous manufacturers.......

On a side note I am begining to see moisture in the drivers side head light assembly do I buy a set "projectors" off ebay and if so which ones? Or is there a way to fix mine? Due to my current financial situation I would much rather fix mine.

Are all the kits these days hi and low? Back in the late 90's I use to sell HID kits and I remember many pissed off customers coming when they realized they lost there hi beams. Mind you those kits cost us 400+ and we sold them for up to $750 installed.......Boy, how things change!

Better halogen bulbs

Take them off, use a hair dryer to dry them out, use silicon to seal them up

Most kits are NOT hi and low. They make them so cheap that most people just get the lows.

You can get two different kinds of HID kits. Ones that are hi/low and some that are just lows. It depends on what kind of headlights you have.

Better halogen bulbs

Any particular ones?

Where do I seal them? I mean how do I know where there leaking from?

Who makes a hi/low kit for my truck?

Better halogen bulbs can often make a big difference, except they won't on the 07+ Yukons ... this is because they use a disastrous H13 bulb which has little to no room for improvement.

An HID kit in a gigantic Yukon reflector is ill advised for the same reasons x 10 the OP of this thread took his off, and I have yet to see an aftermarket housing with decent output.

So do install a pair of Sylvania Ultra's or just put HID's in? From what everyone is saying/posting I will not be happy either way! lol! Rather be unhappy with HIDs as it must be slightly better then stock!

Like I posted in another thread if I knew this truck didnt have HIDs stock I would have never purchased it! I was looking for either an Esky or Denali and every NBS Esky I test drove had em, I assumed all NNBS had em! So pissed off!

So you'd rather blind people then just put a better/correct bulb in there?

Every NNBS Esky has HID's (or LEDs). But the Denali has NEVER came with factory HIDs. They had a halogen projector in the NBS, but they weren't meant for HID bulbs either

You can get the Silverstars and you will see a slight improvement, but not much.
You can get an HID kit and scatter light everywhere, some on the road, but most of it will end up in unusable places including the eyes of oncoming traffic.

Or you can save up for a retrofit. Look at it this way, an NNBS Base Escalade is about $10k more new than a Denali. Part of that is for HID projector headlamps. So you'd be paying just about the same for HIDs if you'd have bought an Escalade as if you save up $1k for a retro.

Btw, a retrofit need not cost $1000.

One can take the time to investigate how it is done, slowly accumulate good quality used parts, and do it themselves for less than $500.

But it's a difficult skill to acquire and mistakes are expensive, so most folks prefer to have an expert retrofitter do it for them.
