just wanted to add my .02....

I have had this mod done for quite some time now, and my reception is effected. didnt notice it at first, but after many months, it is for sure noticable. all my favorite stations come in fine, but a few others that i used to get don't come in clear anymore.

i put an onstar antenna off a 2004 trailblazer on instead of regular one its only 4" big and i got all my stations back and looks way better too just an idea

I will probably do that. I lost all my good stations.
I think i read on here where some guys run them along the windshield.like up that a pillar....how in the heck do you do that. I tried, and unless i wanted bulging out window trim then its no good for me.

I wraped some copper wire around the base and ran it up through the weather seal to get better reception. I get better reception than with the original antenna! Esky piece is on order...for now i put duct tape over the hole

I did this mod a while back (with the Esky cowl corner) and did the same as what 05nali did with the wire in the A-pillar gutter, but with insulated wire...perfect!

Did this awhile back, and loved the look. Reception got real bad so had to put the antenna back. like previous, hated that antenna, so i got some wire wrapped it around the base and ran it up the weather seal. just used regular speaker wire i had laying around. now sounds better than stock. Great mod

Glad I looked in on this thread. I was about to put my antenna back on for a road trip. Now I am going to just run a wire up the pillar.
