I just ran across some receipts and saw your thread. I'm running close to the same setup for the highs only I'm running 6.5"165a 2 ways s in the fronts and 6.5"165ca in the rear with a Jl300/4. I swear the CAs sound better, but overall the clarity is on point. My 12 w7 doesn't drown them out. they still scream. its been 4 years since I did the install so its good to see these speakers are still worthy.

don't ever add up the receipts lol! good luck with the build.

I have the JL 300/4 and want the two exact speakers you speak of. You really think the rear coax Focals sound better then the 2 way components in the front? I'm debating whether to just get two sets of the coaxes now...

Reason I ask is I don't know a stealth way to put the tweeters that would come with the 2 way components and don't really want to drill huge holes in my car to install the tweeters in the front. The nbs had a big nice speaker grill cover/space underneath it to fit the tweeters for components... the nnbs only has a 6.5" speaker grill cover that is part of the interior car door.

Wrecked the truck. Starting over.

This time, going JL 10W3V3 and I'm still debating on the highs. Make recommendations folks...

For the head unit I'm running Pioneer Avic X930BT. And I have a Hifonics amp for the 10s, but I might add a third 10 and go back to the Autotek.

Oh, I still have that T2 if anyone wants it. Wasn't in the truck when I wrecked, so it's good.

I really like my kicker QS65.2 components, they pass the 100mph windows down challenge. Also check out hertz and re audio, I'm personally adding some old school kicker 8" midbass drivers to my front stage to warm things up.

My preferences have changed so much in the past 5 years. I went from 4 ported 15s and two components with 250w on the highs and 4000w on the lows to 2000w on the highs and 1200w on the lows, funny how things progress as you get older  Good luck with the project homie.
