I’m sorry...the new Tahoe is nice, but this is a real Truck!

Find it hilarious that y’all are discussing “real truck” vs “girlie truck” between these soccer mom mobiles

Eh, “my truck/car/cooler/grill/gun is cooler than yours” is the oldest “argument” there is.

But when people obsessively talk about how “masculine” their favorite truck is...well...

When I started this thread I never meant to have the conversation degrade into Masculine vs Feminine, Just "Truck" Vs "Girlie Truck"

Perhaps a sample of part of my Junker Fleet can help calibrate the forum on what I meant in comparison:

Come to think of it when I look at it again the Z71 is a little stout or "Masculine"

I'd actually consider the Avalanche less of a girlie truck than the Tahoe. At least the Avalanche has some pickup truck qualities, and certainly anything with an open bed is more "truckish."

In my opinion, the Tahoe is one small step above a minivan. In fact, a minivan is a hell of a lot more utilitarian for most families than a Tahoe. I'd be curious how many Tahoe owners have them simply because they refuse to be seen in or have a minivan. At least the minivan has the sliding doors and greater floor-to-ceiling height. And if you want to talk about towing, the Suburban is superior in every way to the Tahoe, so that argument is moot. So why does the Tahoe even exist? I think ego/image plays a big part.

The Avalanche is a suburban with its roof cut off and a "C ring" installed with some plastic covers along with "B" cups and "C" cups (which is pretty darn girlie in itself!) The Suburban will not fit in our garage. The Tahoe will.

We have to drive the Lake Erie corridor of Route 90 during the winter. The Weather can make for extremely brutal driving conditions (and I grew up in Central NY). Under these deep snow, blowing snow, high winds and whiteouts the Tahoe is a cultured beast. The Suburban is about the same (Ive driven both under similar conditions). However, the Suburban with the longer ass is more "ungainly" in these situations. The AV does not inspire confidence under these conditions for a variety of reasons.

The comparison to a minivan is wrong on many many levels. Those types of vehicle smartly exit Interstate 90 under the conditions described. The ditch awaits them if they remain on the roadway.

You must be thinking about a Traverse, Enclave or whatever that GMC thing is called. Those are just camouflaged minivans with their adulterated tow ratings over stated by a minimum of 20%. They make it to 36K miles and all bets off afterwards.

All GMT 900 tow most toys very well. If I needed to tow a horse trailer I would go for a Medium duty.

The 07 -14 Tahoe is simply more of a "Truck" than the others! OTTO seated in the passenger seat below agrees. The cloth seats in the AV do not suit him well, and he appears far more "Proud" in the Tahoe.
Dogs know their truck Shi7 and that's enough of a reason for me.

So, you admit you have a tiny garage....:baby:
You admit you don't know how to handle a larger vehicle...:baby:
You have a dog that my cat could eat for breakfast...:leghump:

And yeah, a Tahoe with a whole two extra inches of ground clearance will perform so much better than an AWD Sienna....:manos::insane:

And through all that, it's still a wimpy half-ton soccer mom SUV.

Yep all three of them. I didn't build it

You admit you don't know how to handle a larger vehicle...:baby:

Naw, I currently work in Product Engineering for commercial vehicles like Mack, Peterbilt, Navistar. Im gonna git my CDL one of these days.
You have a dog that my cat could eat for breakfast...:leghump:

Bring him or her on big boy..OTTO has giant teeth that go way way back in that skull. It wouldn't be pretty. He takes pleasure in that kind of stuff, kind of has that Kill, Kill, Kill on his mind 24/7 :pepper:

And yeah, a Tahoe with a whole two extra inches of ground clearance will perform so much better than an AWD Sienna....:manos::insane:

not sure of the point, you think an EXTRA 2 inches don't make a difference? The girls say it does

And through all that, it's still a wimpy half-ton soccer mom SUV.

Point well taken, but the thread is that the 07 -14 is a real "truck" and the ones afterwards are "Girlie Trucks". The soccer moms drive them all.

Thank you very much!:Whoa:

Look up GM Car Truck "Convergence" for details on the elimination of GM Truck and Bus engineering.
