So are you telling me the squeaky squealing I occasionally hear from my blower fan is just a lube job fix? I ordered a replacement fan without looking at it, assuming a bearing is bad.

Honestly dub, that looks like an add on...I don’t think mine has that. I think, and bear with me im speculating, since its right above the filter access door that you dont have, the po may have had an odor in her box , so instead of gm doing the right thing and adding the door and fliter (may also be prior to door and filter being available.... years ago I remember guys on the truck forums making their own doors out of a piece if metal) and they used it as a anti box stink spray port.... no im not gonna look at mine...

Lubricating it may be more of a "patch" than a "fix". In my mind, if it's squeaking, it's already worn. Mine would squeak worse when I'd accelerate which tells me it had excessive lateral slack from wear. Replacing it is the sure fix. But, I don't have much faith in aftermarket motors so I'd get an OEM one and they are $100+. I found a new OEM motor by itself for under $30 and I'd just have to swap my blower cage onto it. I probably should've bought it but it's sold now. I just cleaned and lubed mine since it was a quick and easy fix, even if it's not permanent. If the squeaking comes back, I'll just get a new motor or motor/blower assembly then. For now, this cost me nothing but time so it was worth the shot. I have other unexpected expenses at the moment that are of much higher priority than a mildly chirping blower motor.

1000% sure. I'd be highly concerned if there were some monkeys dumb enough to route an antenna wire through the HVAC assembly working on my Tahoe at some point.

The original owner was a lawyer or business man of some sort so he probably had all service performed at a dealership. This is probably a port that's installed as part of a commercial-grade cleaning system for the evaporator core. I haven't been out to the shop to investigate any further and I won't until I get the cabin air filter retrofit kit.
