I know the RX1 wheel has black inserts. The RXN wheel is the same but with chrome inserts. I want the RX1 but won't pay $2100 extra for it. I'm ordering the Denali with the RXN but want black inserts. Does that give you enough info BlackOh7?

Im surprised this hasnt been brought up before.

Dont pay $2995 extra for the black inserts! Its the exact same wheels for less than $1000. Unscrew the inserts, either DIY rattle can them or take them to a professional body shop and have them painted for $200 MAX. Nets an $1800 savings for 2 hours worth the work.

Thanks. Like hosseface said, I can remove them and paint or wrap them possibly. I'm leading the truck though and would prefer just to swap out inserts then swap them back at turn in... I could then pass the inserts on to a good home!

I'm also interested. I have the 22" rims with chrome inserts on a iridium metallic Denali. I think the black inserts will go well but wasn't going to fork over another 1800 for them.
I was thinking about plasti dip them black. I have no experience on plasti dip and don't know how long it will last. Buying a set of of OEM black inserts will be a better options.

Let me preface this by saying I laugh at the plastidip stuff on a 70K vehicle, however, the wheel inserts are one area I might have a 1% chance of considering using it on. I personally think the black inserts look nice.

I have used plastidip before (albeit on $3000 vehicles) and if applied correctly, would work perfect for this. It is essentially a "wrap." Prep/clean, layer it on 5-6 coats and you'll have a nice finish. Any automatic car wash with the wheel scrubbers would likely demolish it though.

Just saying but if I had these wheels I would wrap the insert in reflective vinyl for some real night flare.

Bad news from my dealer on my wheel selection. He said it's a no go on the RXN wheel (7 spike w/chrome inserts). Every set in dealer inventory is sold and accounted for. He wants me to pick something else. The problem is I want those wheels. The other options just aren't that great. Anyone have the SF1 wheel on a black Denali? That's the 7 spoke with no inserts.

EDIT: It looks like that SF1 wheel is a $2900 upgrade too. I cannot believe I can't get the wheels I want. I lease my vehicle and get a new one every 24 to 36 months but have never had an issue getting the options I want as I always order the vehicles. I hate to put aftermarket wheels on the thing and spend that extra money on a leased vehicle. I guess I could get the cheapest wheels possible and then put aftermarket wheels on then swap them back out at turn in. It's just a pain in the ass.

Well for some reason I dont see a part number for the RXN wheel. The RX1 (black insert) costs me $420 a wheel and they are out there and available. The SF1 all chrome ones cost me $370 a wheel and theres a bunch of those out there also. Let me know if this helps and if you can find out a better option for that RXN wheel. For some reason I dont even show it in catalog or accesssories
