if you wheel the truck find a 14 bolt and build it, it just makes sense.

A 2" block and cranking teh front is a popular set up.

I have a 98 4 door 4x4 with a 3" bl and I'm running 35"s on it without cranking or rear block, and I have stock gears. I'm about to build a 14 bolt and do a 4l80e and a black bear tune. I want to do the rough county 2-3 inch suspension lift so I can run 37's. But you can run 35's with stock gears and be fine. I'm getting 16mpg highway with mine and all I have is exhaust, not to mention my 5.7 vortec has 223,*** miles ( when it ***** out I'm doing a 6.0 swap )

Brayden,

Please do yourself a favor and look more into that 2-3" lift....check this forum, gm fullsize, fullsize chevy, gmt400 and so on. From what I have read it is bad stuff. basically an expensive T bar crank. Spend a few extra bucks and get the 6" lift from RCX (same as the 4" but with an AAL), that is quality.

My advice and I'm sure others would agree would be save up another $400 and do it right.

Don't know if I believe the 35's with no lift....unless u cut the body a lot. My stock gears are 373, it seemed really odd to me but I get great gas mileage and my hoe has plenty of get and up go, and its basically stock.
