I simply don't understand why my lifter on the left bank of the engine will only randomly stay stuck when it's humid (cold) out? It won't happen super cold or when it's warm out? I was so hoping to get another year out of this engine before having to change it.I guess at 400000km I can't complain ,it still doesn't take a drop of oil and the pressure never drops below 40

Maybe try a different brand oil. If the only issue is lifter noise u don't need a new engine. Pull the heads and replace the lifters..

Honestly, if it still doesn't take a drop of oil and the pressure never drops below 40 I wouldn't worry about a little lifter tick. As mentioned about, a simple oil switch could clear it up.

Its not very humid when its (cold) outside. During the winter the humidity is very lower (the air is dry) which is why static electricity builds up very easily especially when you are sliding your rearend across your driver seat. Are you sure that is valvetrain noise and not spark knock? Are you getting any codes? Since your pressure is well within spec I would not consider this an oiling issue. I would try an additive that frees stuck lifters first and see if that takes care of it. Have you recently changed brand/weight of oil? During oil change after the additive that frees stuck lifters goto a decent synthetic oil. Let us know what you come up with.
