LockPick GMX550 Install The Good, Bad, Ugly, and Really Ugly

Yea my iPod classic is an iPod video and it's not supported. You must be running a certain iOS for it to output video. There's nothing wrong with your lock pick, that's just not a supported device unfortunately. Your iTouch will def work though.

yeah I tried my IPOD touch lastnight and its still not working. It will play everything but doesnt display any of my album artwork. I tried my girls IPHONE 3 and it didnt work..dont have access to an IPHONE4 yet or anything like that. I know in there videos they mention NANO, ipod video and everything but yet all of those I have dont work. I will try my dads IPAD that he has and see if it works.

Update your iPod touch to iOS 5+ and it'll work. Yea I have the latest gen iPod nano and everything shows up on the nav screen. iPhone 3G wont work bc it's not on the newer iOS either.

How much was the lockpick? The guy that will install my back-up cam says he uses Navtv. I guess they're comparable. Just curious how much I can expect to pay. I don't want to spend a grand for a back up cam. That's all I'll use it for. I don't watch dvds in my truck and I won't use the music sync part. Stupid dealer won't even give me a quote on a factory back up cam.

well I had the dreaded "NO WORKING ANYTHING THIS MORNING" after starting the car....wierdest thing..started the car and complete Audio was gone...turn signals wouldnt make the clicking noise, no radio, navi, nothing on display....played with the 4 button mute thing to try and get anything to work...of course PARK ASSIST OFF DISPLAYED on the menu screen the whole time....after my sons soccer game was over came back in and started the car and sure enough everything was working as normal again. Personall kind of getting fed up with it. Only really big problem is my car didnt come with factory NAV so I believe I would still need that extra wire or correct wiring harness to run the OEM navi in my car. Is this correct? If so I am just going to pull my ipod connection out and lockpick and sell it to be honest. My wife is using the tahoe now for her real estate and cant have a crappy nav setup that only works sometimes.

Needless to say sometimes the arrow is driving backwards...it cant determine my location...

cmblack13, my truck does the same thing and its frustrating me cause i cannot figure out why, are you running a lockpick and which one, cause i have the coastaltech gen6 lockpick with the ipod connector and i wonder if that isnt doing it... My nave does somthing similar also with it not locating me and not moving, but i found out that is due to the lockpick, if i remove the setting for nav in motion then it works again fine, that i know for sure is related to the lockpick, i got that explanation i got i think off coastaltech's website,

I had this EXACT thing happen to me!!! I went to the professional audio installer place that sells the lock pick (but I bought mine online) and had them test it out and they said it was a dead unit. My nav screen just displayed a blank screen with nothing powering up and once they removed the dead lock pick unit everything went back to normal. I went through hell and back to get the lock pick replaced by the 3rd party company on amazon.com that sold it to me to get a replacement but I finally got one. These lock picks are so buggy I regret buying mine and wish I wouldve went with NavTV.

So i guess there are more of us out there with these buggy units. Felix after you had it replaced does it work ok now or does it still do the same thing???

Im not sure if i wanna trash mine or not and try a different model..
