LockPick GMX550 Install The Good, Bad, Ugly, and Really Ugly

So it got worse if that's possible. No support for iphone 5, awesome. This was the last straw. I'm going to remove it. Anyone want to buy one cheap?

Sorry to open an old thread, but didn't want to open a new one on this topic. I just picked up a Lockpick, but for some reason it doesn't have an ipod cable with it. Secondly, I have the factory camera, do I need to run an extension wire? And if so, where exactly is it? Thanks guys!

It should have come with the iPod cable. Did you buy it used? I'm sure you could contact CoastelTech and buy just the replacement iPod cable.

I used a speaker wire to extend the camera wire all the way under the pass seat and hook it up as the instructions say...hid it all underneath the center panels...

I bought it new off of ebay, but there was no ipod cable...guess I'm going to be having some fun...and thanks for letting me know. I didn't know if it was in the back seat or under the passenger seat for the wire.

Its under the passenger seat....move it all the way forward and up and there is a module on the back corner towards the center of the car...there is a blue wire if i recall you run it to...

Download the pdf manual off their site...and read the directions carefully...

when i activate my ipod, the sound only comes from the left speakers...

DVD in motion? no worky!

gmx550 install

ive been looking into buying the gmx550 for my 2008 tahoe hybrid, i was told by coasteltech that it is not compatable with the hybrid model, however i see here that it has been installed in a hybrid. can anyone verify that it is in fact compatable with the hybrid model?

The original poster (bjremi) has a hybrid and has the lockpick... so yes it definitely works in a hybrid.

I've had mine for over two years. Zero issues. I cant believe so many people have problemems with this unit.
