I think painting it black behind it will really make it look like nothing is there. I'm tuned in to see what you come up with. I'm stumped on this one.

How about fitting a piece of sheet metal behind the grill, paint it black with a bunch of holes, Swiss cheese it for circulation . I'd go with small to medium size holes, along with spraying the radiator black. Might look good. Stealthy!

You'd still see the metal behind there with holes drilled in it and it'd still restrict air flow

Even with a shitload of small holes? I'd think airflow would be ok, spaced far enough apart?

That's along the lines of what I was thinking. Maybe a Tahoe decal on the sheet metal or something. Then it'll give them something to look at!

It couldn't hurt the new grill alone has lowered my engine temperature. The sheet metal with holes will probably put me back where I was with the factory grille

You could try a denali style punch grill and fab it to fit behind there and paint it black. Then just add some metal to the sides between the headlights and turn signals... should be a pretty easy mod

Is this, grill like a factory grill? I'd like to keep it under 50 bucks seeing how it's only visual and not a performance mod.
