145k on mine when I changed the water pump. Boughr aftermarket new water pump for $120. Its a DIY project.

if your Yukon is not blowing smoke out rear I wouldn't be to concerned with the Castech thing. Fix your water pump and see what happens

Mine was not burning smoke....

I was taking coolant - with no signs of leaking externally anywhere..

man I like the thought of converting to 6.0 but don't like the thought of spending cash right now.

And your situation is so similar to mine it uncanny....so I'm fearing that it is indeed the same issue....especially since my yukon is such an early model.

Is your yukon a 4x4? Im wondering if the 4l65e tranny will bolt up without a ton of mods.

So I drove an hour this morning to have my windows blacked out. when I got back home I noticed a large puddle of fluid below my yukon. crawled below and it was definitely my water pump. While I had the hood open I looked over at my heads and notice I have the 760 heads but not sure if I have the castech heads or not. I'm thinking of buying a 6.0l to go in place of the 5.3 so I might pull my valve covers and check for sludge, cracks, and possible leaks. If its cracked I'm going to go ahead and replace the motor instead of wasting money on a 5.3 thats already on its last limb....but if its good then I'll replace the pump and drive it until it craps out.
