OK so I think I have decided on buying a monster in a box rebuild kit. Was wondering if there was anything else I should get? Any more input would be great. If your not familiar with this kit here is what comes with it. Also thinking of getting a new torque converter maybe 1650 stall. I don't plan on adding any power to the motor and just plan on towing. Do I need a shift kit?

That's what I put in mine. Take your time and get your clearances right. try to get them towards the low side of spec. Yes you need the shift kit. It helps with line pressure and coolant flow to the cooler.

So I don't need anything else than whats in this package? Sorry to sound like I'm new to this, problem is this is my first automatic I've messed with. Use to standard trannys.

I would recommend getting the shop manual to help you with the rebuild. There not a difficult trans to do but there are a few tools that will make life a bit easier for you.

There are better shells then the beast now a days, go with the Sonnax SmartShell, much better piece and it actually addresses the REAL issue.
