FYI the JL 10TW3-D4 does not fit into the esky stock box unless you are stubborn and used to making bad decisions like I am.

The cutout diameter is 9 1/8" and the maximum size of the bezel is 11". The JL exceeds both of those dimensions but I do own a router and Dremel.

The mounting surface isn't perfectly flat either so it would be best to choose a sub that has even mounting points - unlike the JL which only effectively has four. I supplemented sealing and securing with RTV.

That's pretty big box, probably larger than the JL calls for but I'm of the opinion that most subs speck smaller volume boxes than ideal for marketing purposes...

Also, my vehicle amplifier was mounted with 3 M10's and one plastic push on clip which created a massive resonate vibration so be sure everything in that area is bolted down and secured properly.
How does the enclosure hold up with the JL? I just ordered the enclosure and was deciding on what sub. Was likely going for the Hertz MPS 250s2, but wasn't sure how well the enclosure would hold up to higher end subs. The JL has similar xmax as the Hertz so if it holds up well to that, I should be good to go to pull the trigger.

Well it hasn't rattled itself apart. I did have some vibrations at the mounting points which had to be adjusted out with some firm foam.

The frequency response is kinda funky with a huge spike around 80hz and drops off rapidly after 50hz. I was able to use a DSP to turn that out.

I'm not familiar with a subwoofer of this specification or a vehicle this long so this may just be a case of it is what it is.. It sounds good and creates some strong DB's, just enough to feel the seat vibrate and loose sight of what's in the rearview mirror. But it's right on the limit of making some real bass which keeps me wanting more out of it.

Mine has proven to be exactly what I wanted. Good, strong bass, but not so much that the wifey doesn't want to ride in the car. It's solid as can be from rap to EDM to rock to metal. I took a bit to find the proper setting on the bass controller knob (which I moved from under the dash to under the seat), but I haven't had to adjust it for a while now. Found the sweet spot. My brother has a JL in his Land Cruiser and I can tell you that my set up isn't quite as powerful. that being said, the >$1,000 I saved on the set up is more than worth what I may have lost in audio.

I used gmpartsdirect.com as they will ship FedEx for only a couple buck where other wholesale online sellers billed for freight only. You can also order from parts.chevorlet.com and have shipped free to your dealership. The ladder only works out if you order enough to qualify for the 20% discount.

Gotcha, I figured it'll be a little bit harder to get SPL in such a large cabin, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the luggage space. I'm hoping it will be enough, I'm just looking for a little bit more extension on the lower frequencies so hopefully this will suffice. My days of 2 12's in a 2 door jeep are long behind me lol

Yeah look around. Some sites don't do the freight, that shocked me at first as well. Almost went for the JL stealthbox, but then I found gmpartsdirect like K5-Z71 did. It was like 40 bucks to ship.

Found a similar link to my local Cadillac dealership, free pickup so cost $132. And now we wait for GM to figure out when they want to get it to the dealer.

Update: the hertz mps 250 doesn’t fit in the Escalade box. Although the spec sheet seems like it would, the basket is too wide and hits the bend the box has to accommodate the stock amps. Returning the sub and ordering the JL stealth box -_-. Should have stuck to buy once cry once mentality.

Thanks for everyone's contributions here. Made it easy to add the Esky box to my 2021 Tahoe. After reading reviews of the AKG system in the Esky, and their struggle to find a sub that will fit, I figured the stock sub with a little power might be be worth a try. It turns out it is pretty disappointing, so now the search begins for a sub that will fit. Here are a few photos with measurements, to help anyone looking for sub options.
