Minor update - received email that my torque converter will be delivered tomorrow. Ordered my plugs and wires today. A few minor other parts and I will be ready to install this engine. Looking at calendar, job schedule and family schedule. Maybe another couple of weeks to R&R. Long time coming.

Today was the day. Got started this morning around 0930. Jack up the truck and pulled the tires and the mod begins.

And then got started at removing the torsion bars. Sprayed PB blaster on all areas where I would expect difficulties including nuts and bolts. The adjustments bolts came out pretty easily. Using a GM torsion bar release tool, I was able to get the adjust brackets out. However the the keys were stuck to the torsion bars. Using a bit (ok maybe more than a bit) of hammer persuasion I was able to separate the keys from the bars.

In order to get the torsion bars out, I needed to drop the support beam. After that, the the torsion bars slid right out. Your looking at about 71lbs of parts.

Started on the passenger, because it will be the easier of the two. Removed the shocks.

Then I installed the provided brackets. This required a bit of work that I thought I captured but the pictures did not turn out. The right is the lower bracket the left is the upper bracket.

The next two pictures are with the coil over shocks installed.

I can say I love the ride these provide. I will provide updates as I put more miles and find the final adjustments that I want.
