Most of these trucks do this. I've been told that is the slipyoke in the trans. The remedy they say is to remove the driveshaft and grease the yoke that slips in the transmission. The trans fluid is supposed to lubricate this but . . . . I' personally have not tried this remedy but, my truck does make that noise when I come to a complete stop.

I had my rear driveshaft yoke greased up with a good synthetic grease and the noise you guys are describing went away for me. The transmission guy said this is a common thing with tahoe's of our age, and its an extremely cheap thing to do, even if it isnt making noise. I paid $30 for him to do it.

Update: no noise yet. I new GM bolts seem to have solved it. The width on the factory bolts in tighter to the spring, the thread is better too, the ****** other bolts had a very fine thread and the side I questioned was stripped a little and when I went to take it off it was not really tight. Been driving all week and have not heard the noise so my conclusion so far is the rear was shifting on me. Nice huh? Thanks for all the advice as always.
